  • Monica is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM . She has 2 years of experience working as a Personal Trainer and 8 years working with patients creating exercise programs as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

    Though most of her background is in Physical Therapy where she has gained almost a decade of knowledge and expertise, working with her through personal training will not be physical therapy and you will be referred for services to another professional if your needs are outside of her scope of practice as a Certified Personal Trainer.

    Wellness changes take time and there are no “quick fixes”. I use a mind-body mindfulness approach and we move at your own pace. I don’t believe in restrictions or “no pain no gain” approaches.

    Think of me as your accountability - buddy, holding you accountable to show up for yourself and pushing you when you need it - but always encouraging you to tune into what your body is asking of you, rather than ignoring your body’s signs and signals and pushing though anyways - - which would be likely to lead to injury.

  • Fitness and wellness are all year round, whereas the Unruly Retreats and events are seasonal.

    Working on our fitness goals in the “off season” is a great way to prepare your body and mind for adventures for Minnesota’s spring, summer and autumn - so you can enJOY more and suffer less, while also decreasing risk of injury while adventuring.

    For example, you may have the mountain bike skills down. But, perhaps are still struggling to maintain the proper body positioning while mountain biking over various terrain because of fatigue and muscle imbalances - - this is where fitness training comes in!

    Or, maybe you need to get ready for that backpacking adventure, but don’t know where to start. We can work together to build strength, work on balance, and prepare you for your next adventure!

    Or, maybe you just want to feel strong in your body again. You want to be able to do the things you want to do, with less fatigue, with less fear and more confidence.
