2025 Group Rides will generally be WEDNESDAYS this year at various single track locations, with the occasional trail work day at Theodore Wirth Single Track with MORC instead of group ride.

Be sure to check back frequently for updates and added events. Sign up for the event in order to be notified for changes via email.

🚫We will not ride if the Air Quality Index is 150 or above

🚫 We will not ride if the trails are closed (check Trailbot App for trail condition updates)

The Unruly Rides:
  • Unruly Mountain Bike Group Rides are FREE (unless stated otherwise)
  • are about community/meeting other riders
  • are for anyone who identifies as women, nonbinary or gender expansive that feels most comfortable in femme spaces

  • are about experiencing joy/fun while biking
  • a ride at your own pace kinda ride (aka no-drop / no-one left behind)
  • are for any level of experience -although knowing how to ride your bike is a must (check out the 1:1 coaching or skills clinics if you'd like to build your skills and confidence)
  • emphasize positive self talk instead of the usual thoughts of holding others back, not being good enough, fast enough, etc.
  • and if you feel emotions surface, know that is 100% normal and ok. Biking is bilateral stimulation which helps us process - flow with it and stop judging yourself and we most definitely won’t judge you.
  • *If it’s been raining/storming within a few days of our group ride, please double check the MORC trail conditions by clicking HERE or check out the Trailbot App to ensure the trail is open, we will not ride if trail is closed. *

Mountain Bike Singletrack Trailwork Volunteer Wednesdays with MORC

WHY VOLUNTEER with MORC and Unruly Women?

Volunteering is a great opportunity to learn more about the areas we recreate in, about the work that goes into maintaining trail systems we use, and to not only give back to the community but to become a part of the community.

Meet in front of the Trailhead building 5-10 minutes before 5PM or join us later on the trail - if posted or you know where to go.

As a reminder, MORC liability waivers need to be signed every year (in person upon arrival), so please make sure you've signed this year's waiver and signed in for the trailwork session before grabbing a tool.

WHY:

“I know what it's like to walk into a situation where you don't know what you're doing and it feels weird.  It's not like that here.  We love new people.  We love people who want to help the trail.  If folx want to do this once or if they want to make it a thing, we've got their back.” - Mara, MORC Crew Leader

I also completely agree and relate to this statement. Getting involved in trail work is intimidating. I’ve been in trail work situations where I didn’t feel welcome and didn’t feel comfortable - and didn’t even know where to begin or what to ask, which kept me from returning to try… for years. This is why I collaborate and co-host with organizations that have a shared interest in curating welcoming trail work events. I believe that fostering welcoming environments encourages people to ask questions and be themselves and that being part of the trail work gives individuals a sense of belonging to the trail and the community. - Monica, Founder of Unruly Women

We will never ask anyone to do any work they're uncomfortable doing, full stop.

  • This is a learning experience! Please ask questions, there’s a good chance you’re not the only one wondering :)

  • If there’s something you want to try - - ask! Don’t hesitate to get involved and give it a try!

WHO:

  • No experience needed - we love new faces! Familiar faces too!

  • All abilities welcome - MORC works with people of all physical abilities

  • Female Identifying, Femme and Nonbinary identities

  • 15-20 people! Please sign up, please share, we hope to see you there!

  • teenagers are welcome as long as a parent/guardian/teacher/coach over 18 years of age are able to co-sign the waiver

  • waiver must be signed in person to participate

WHAT :

  • The south downhill project will be enhancing the currently chunky route, making a new smoother route, and pin rocking the heck out of both so riders have to stay on the designated trail.  If time and bodies permit, we'll also rebuild the optional jump/roller at the end of the cement sidewalk and rebuild the massively eroded uphill after the jump.

  • We will be hauling boulders, moving jump material, and placing and packing pavers, and....  All of this will be done safely using appropriate techniques, equipment, and teamwork.

  • you are welcome to ride or walk to the site, there will be places to lock up your bike, but keep in mind you will likely be carry tools - but you do you! Whatever makes you feel most comfortable, and this could depend on where we’re working on the trail as to what would make the most sense.

WHEN :

  • Wednesday May 28, 2025

  • 5-8 pm

  • Meet in front of The Trailhead - look for the orange MORC flag

  • please sign up, so I know to notify you about any event changes or updates

WHAT TO BRING :

  • wear long pants / durable pants

  • sturdy shoes/work boots

  • gloves

  • eye protection (plastic work glasses/glasses/sunglasses for examples)

  • bug spray

  • plenty of drinking water and snacks

  • a backpack helps to easily transport your belongings while keeping your hands free to carry items to/from the trail work site

Trailwork begins at 5pm, you are welcome to stay as long as fits into your schedule :)

WHY is Unruly adding MTB trail work this year along with group rides?

  • I (Monica) have always wanted to learn how to build and maintain single track mountain biking building, it’s something I find interesting and also intimidating to get into and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way, so I want to help create a bridge to this experience and education for myself and others.

  • I ride these trails a lot - a lot - and I feel one of the best ways to give back is to learn the amount of work that goes into building and how to maintain these trail systems - - the more we know about an outdoor space the more likely we are to speak up for it and protect it too.

  • I also think that by learning how the trails are built, it might further my understanding of the trail itself and improve my mountain biking skills by making it less intimidating by having more depth of understanding of the trail itself.

Wirth On Wednesday Mountain Bike Race for all female identifying and non-binary individuals!

Wirth On Wednesday Mountain Bike Race for all female identifying and non-binary individuals!

Mountain biking and mountain bike racing are intimidating - especially considering that it’s a male dominated sport.

But, that’s even more reason for more of us to show up and ride. The more of us that are out there riding and supporting each other and ourselves - the better the experience will be and the more women, femme and non-binary individuals will be represented and recognized. We are all deserving of being out there, riding singletrack AND racing.

LET’s SHOW UP + GET UNRULY + let's flood this race with our energy and our stoke, the more the merrier!!!!

(a little birdie told me that they shouldn’t be expecting too many to show up to race…. but that just sounds like motivation to me.. to gather up and show up and have the times of our lives!)

We need to shift our mindsets, remember our worth, and show up and ride and do the things we want to do without fear of judgement and intimidation. Let’s RIDE!!!
