Hello! My name is Monica and I am SO glad that you’re here.

Join me for 1:1 personalized fitness coaching to improve your posture, body awareness, strength, flexibility, balance and mobility within your body through exercise, mindfulness and education.

With 8 years of experience curating exercise programs, teaching exercises, body awareness and helping individuals improve their strength, flexibility, balance and mobility while working in Physical Therapy and for 2 years as a Personal Trainer, I have curated hundreds of exercise programs personalized to individual needs to help them work towards their personal goals.

My own personal experience: from a young age I was obsessed with exercise, playing sports in High School and regularly creating and finding new exercises to keep me strong and active to do the things I wanted to do. It led me to an education and career in physical wellness. But, growing up in the 90’s and early 2000’s I also was immersed in the unhealthy side of exercise, what was considered wellness back then, under- eating, focusing on performance and how I looked while sacrificing how I felt and not understanding the impact it had on me on a deeper level. I also know what it’s like to fall out of that. After an adventure in New Zealand in 2015, I came back wondering how I’d lost myself. I didn’t feel joy in movement, I didn’t savor or truly enjoy food without guilt, I never slowed down enough to appreciate the beauty in the world around me when I was hiking or biking, and I felt disconnected with myself and with others. I wanted to feel joy, love and respect for myself, but because so much of my identity back then revolved around exercise I didn’t know who I was without it, the routine and restriction.

It’s taken too many years to come back home to myself, to find joy in biking and hiking for what it is rather than the calorie counting, distance and speed tracking. My heart broke and I had to put it back together. I questioned everything and started over again and again - - but because of that, I’ve got the wisdom to share with you, so that hopefully you don’t have to take the long detour back to yourself.

I know what it’s like to fall out of love or out of habit with going to the gym or with a sport or activity you once loved. I know what it’s like to have an injury bring it to a full stop. I know what it’s like to lose the driving force behind the motivation that once kept you going, having lost meaning as you grew as a person. And I know what it’s like for the fuel to be external rather than internal, and that’s where mindfulness comes in.

Trying to get back to where you once were … starting over … remembering what you used to be able to do … can stop you in your tracks before you even start again.

Through mindfulness, education and exercise you and I will work together so I can help create a plan to get you back to living your best life. Your best days aren’t behind you, they’re ahead of you and they’re waiting for you to believe in yourself again.

* I want to be completely clear that through this, I am working only as a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM, and to work with me will be for Personal Training only - not physical therapy. Any needs outside of my scope of practice as a Certified Personal Trainer will be referred elsewhere :)

As someone who has been in the wellness world for decades, I know 4 things to be true :

  • The next hardest thing is showing up

  • The third hardest thing is consistency

  • and perhaps most importantly FOOD IS FUEL!

Includes :

  • weekly in - person or virtual exercise sessions (we use your exercise equipment at your home or I’ll bring my own)

  • bi - weekly check-ins by phone call or virtual call

Adventure Specific

Includes :

  • assessment of your posture and how you move

  • a discussion of your adventure goal (whether this is for an Unruly Retreat, your own planned adventure, backpacking, mountain biking or climbing specific)

  • an exercise plan

  • number of exercise sessions per week to be determined following your adventure goals discussion (we use your exercise equipment at your home or I’ll bring my own)

  • number of check - ins to be determined following your adventure goals discussion
